It’s been a while.

There’s a lot I could say (it’s been 6 weeks since I posted I guess), but I’ll keep it brief.

I’m not dead (it would be a sad error in judgement to mistake me for a corpse).

I am entirely unable to see or leave comments on posts here, and have been for weeks. Previously it would sometimes act up for a day and get better, but for at least a month I have not been able to see or leave comments on posts. Not sure if it’s Kinja or if I’m in trouble. From when it acted up before, the direct link from notifications would sometimes work, so I may or may not be able to see any comments on this.

The garage has received a new 6" of 4000psi wire-reinforced concrete, densifier, and penetrating sealant. I’m currently in the process of reassembling everything. See above picture; compare to previous post’s. I also painted while it was empty. It’s very nice.

I did the folding-at-home thing for a few days, but working from home in the same room meant the fan noise and heat was driving me absolutely insane, so I stopped. Hopefully it helped.

Remember when Oppo was about cars with the occasional off-topic? Yeah that was cool.

There you are! I’ve been wondering where you snuck off to. I’ve been missing the Chevelle updates but given the work on the garage I’m guessing that you haven’t had much time for work on that.

With the Chevelle under its own power I guess now was the time. Too bad about the whole Kinja thing but try these links next time it breaks. Worked for me for a slightly different problem.

By chance do you use Firefox as a browser? There is a known issue with it and comments at the moment, but it works fine in Chrome.

The Chevelle ha s been in storage for a little over 6 weeks now, once the garage is put back together it will come home. I have the bits to fix the speedometer, then it should just need driven a bit to continue getting things broken in.

The garage floor has been a long time coming. I had planned on doing it quite a while ago but one thing after another lead to it not happening until now.

Writing posts isn’t the issue, I can’t see or leave comments (except apparently on my work computer, which I’m on at the moment as I wrap up lunch ).

I do use Firefox (I am currently on my work computer, which uses chrome; not a viable solution but it does let me see your post in more than the notification preview ).

I’m sure as hell not changing browsers because the kinja devs are too lazy to fix a months-known major bug for a major browser, if that’s what it is . I’d be fired after a week if something that major was known and nothing was done about it.

They are planning on fixing it - when I contacted support a month ago they said nobody was working on things atm other than those things that are major issues due to layoffs from COVID.

But I agree. I’m not switching from Firefox. I just usually try refreshing a few times, if it doesn’t load then, I just open Chrome (I have a second browser installed just in case for situations like this, and I’ll be damned if I’ll use Edge, lol) and copy-paste the link...sucks, but at least it works for the time being.

I would classify “the second most common web browser does not work with the platform” as major in terms of bugs for a media platform, but that’s just me. They’re probably more concerned with changing stars to bookmarks back to stars and back to bookmarks.
